Training
When:
Join Marjorie Sierra and Seya Speake Pine for a deep dive into the marriage of ancient yogic teachings and Chinese medicine. A Yin Yoga Immersion. This 30 hour academy will cover yin anatomy and physiology, posture and meridians, parasympathetic portals and subtle body psychology. These are teachings at the intersection of subtle body energetics, the quietude of stillness in the nervous system, and the poetry of Taoism.
This is an immersion for any level of Yogi: beginner to advanced. This counts as continuing education for 200 hour yoga teachers.

People have been gathering to honor and celebrate the winter solstice for thousands of years. Join Cait and Jennie on Sunday, December 21 from 3 to 5 PM at Valkyrie in Ocean Beach as we gather in community to honor these sacred traditions and celebrate the changing of the seasons.
To honor the solstice, we will partake in a cacao ceremony where we will set intentions for the new season, breathwork to embody and magnetize our intentions, and a Reiki infused sound bath to seal in our sacred time together.
Please bring a yoga mat, a journal, a cup for the ceremony and anything else that you would like to be as comfortable as possible (I.e. eye masks, pillows, blankets, cozy socks, etc.)

Shadow & Inner Child Series with Margie Sierra

Take a deep dive into self with this four week intensive. The Shadow Child Series focuses on actively exploring and healing the wounded parts of the inner child by confronting and integrating the repressed, darker side of the psyche. These aspects of our personalities are part of our shadow self, often times stemming from childhood experiences and traumas. This workshop will provide a safe space to bring awareness to and help heal the unhealed emotional needs of the younger self by acknowledging and building a healthy relationship with our shadow.

HELD x TOGETHER is an affinity space + devotion for people of color to come together + design wellness through community, breath, body, and conversation. We aim to gather every other month in Ocean Beach at Valkyrie Yoga. This time will be devoted to cultivating wellness through community + introducing guided practices for deepening connection to body-mind-heart-soul. We aim to expand the ways in which we not only hold space for ourselves - but how we come together to create a sense of safety, trust, care, and curiosity in the ways in which we prioritize our health, happiness, and ability to lead healing in our local community. HELD x TOGETHER is a space for expanding the ways we take up space and create our own formula for wellness - bonded through commonalities of lived experiences, culture, and ethnicity. Together we’ll open our hearts with ceremonial cacao, connect to the spirit of life and death through guided breathwork, and move freely in dance as an offering of love and gratitude.
This gathering is an opportunity to share stories, release, and remember the beauty of those who came before us — weaving community, presence, and devotion into the fabric of this sacred night.
Bring a photo or small offering for the altar to honor your ancestors and loved ones.
